Wednesday 19th : About film music
It's all about sharing
As part of the This is England festival, the Rouen Norwich Club, in collaboration with the Normandy Region and Normandie Images, organized a round table discussion on film music. Cédric Delelée, journalist for Mad Movies magazine and specialist in film music and genre cinema, led the discussion between Vincent Blanchard, author and composer from Rouen, César Award winner for Alex Lutz's film GUY, and Christopher Austin, British conductor and composer based in Norwich.
More than sixty people registered for this event, and the auditorium on the Champ de Mars esplanade was filled to capacity.
The discussion, conducted in French (Christopher is bilingual), was followed by a masterclass in English upon the arrival of 20 British directors whose short films were selected for the TIE 2025 competition. We would like to thank the British Council France, which, as part of the GREAT campaign, is supporting us in inviting the film crews to the festival. This year, the festival welcomed 92 British and Irish guests during the week for 58 films, not counting our friends from Norwich, who came especially for the occasion. This number increases every year, which delights us. It is such a pleasure to share moments of laughter, emotion, and conviviality every day.
